We pretty much buy everything on Amazon now and enjoy free shipping with our Prime membership. However, there are certain things, including online subscriptions, that are no longer available for purchase on amazon.com.
If you are looking for the best deal to sign up for a WSJ subscription you won’t find it on Amazon anymore. Here’s today’s best WSJ subscription offer plus why Amazon no longer offers discounted Wall Street Journal.
Can You Buy a WSJ Subscription on Amazon?
The Wall Street Journal is a top name in financial news and Amazon is, of course, the most popular place to buy everything from A to Z at unrivaled prices. So, you would think that Amazon would have a great deal on Wall Street Journal subscriptions, right?
I was recently surprised to discover that Amazon no longer sells WSJ subscriptions at all.
In fact, when you search Amazon for a Wall Street Journal subscription you’ll see this “currently unavailable” message:
You Can’t Subscribe to a WSJ Print Subscription on Amazon, Either!
My wife and I recently tried to think of things that you can’t buy cheaper on Amazon than going to the mall. We couldn’t think of much, except for maybe Auntie Anne’s pretzels and assault rifles, but now I know that Amazon does not sell Wall Street Journal subscriptions, either.
I did a little thinking, and I have a hypothesis as to why that’s the case.
Why Amazon.com Does Not Sell Discounted WSJ Subscriptions:
I believe the reason why Amazon no longer sells WSJ subscriptions is due to political differences. The notoriously conservative Wall Street Journal is owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. and the publication is a direct rival to the progressive Washington Post which is owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos’.
So basically, Jeff Bezos doesn’t agree with the conservative slant of the WSJ, so he doesn’t sell it on Amazon!
So, even though Amazon no longer offers discounted WSJ subscriptions, the good news is that our affiliate offer is even better!
